The Book Thief Review (2013)
The Book Thief
This film was very very good! The little girl was a great actress, the story was intriguing, and it was nice to see World War 2 through the lens of a child's eyes. Similar to The Boy In The Stripped Pajamas, this story handles topics like death, war, and the racial hatred of the Nazi's in a very tasteful way. I appreciated the ambition of this film, and my only gripes with it, is that sometimes it was a little slow and sometimes I wish it'd have shown the brutality of the German's in a less safe, kid friendly way. Having not read the book, I can only compare it as a movie and as a movie, I really enjoyed it! 3 out of 5 stars! (Rent It)
